Lloyd William Jacobs, resident of Oologah, passed from this life on Wednesday evening May 27, 2015, at the age of 83 years.
Lloyd was born April 28, 1932, in San Gabriel, Calif., to William Davis and Eleanor (Pearson) Jacobs.
The family moved to Oklahoma when he was young, living and attending school in Oologah.
After honorably serving his country with the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War, he returned to Oklahoma, and on May 15, 1954, was united in marriage to Louise Tatum.
They made their home in Collinsville until moving to Oologah in 1969. Lloyd was an active member of the Oologah Assembly of God Church. He had worked as an aircraft mechanic for Rockwell International. Family was always an important part of his life, especially his grandchildren; but he also found time for reading and hunting.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories are his wife of 61 years — Louise; children Greg Jacobs and wife Deborah of Oologah, Pam Cook and husband Keith of Verdigris, and Chad Jacobs and wife Rebecca of Oologah. Also surviving is his sister Gloria Jacobs of Tulsa. Lloyd was blessed with eight grandchildren; Katelyn and her husband Justin, Trevor, Davis, Madison, Carson, Trista, Brylee, Cassady, and great-granddaughter Lilly. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Joy Lynn Jacobs.
